Heavily favoured Bella Palazzo wasted no time in grabbing the racetrack in Tuesday’s $7,500 Preferred 3 for trotters at The Raceway at Western Fair District, and once he cleared it was ‘game over’ for the others.

Bob McClure hustled Bella Palazzo to immediate command from Post 5 and together they sliced out splits of :28.4, :59.1 and 1:29.1 before using a :30.2 closing quarter to win by 2-1/2 lengths over Savthelstdancforme in 1:59.3. Excellence took home third prize in the seven-horse affair.

Mike Weller trains the six-year-old daughter of Tom Ridge-Bellissimo for Pod Stable LLC of Seven Hills, OH. It was the second win of the season – and the 23rd to date – for the career winner of $157,509.
