Magic Dancing Perfect In London

After going winless in seven starts as a freshman, trotting filly Magic Dancing is off to a perfect start in her sophomore campaign. She appears to have found her track of choice, going undefeated in six races at The Raceway at the Western Fair District in London, Ont.

Magic Dancing notched her sixth consecutive front-end victory on Friday night for trainer Victor Puddy and owner Percy Elkins of Milton, Ont. Western Fair's leading driver Alfie Carroll steered the Kadabra-Stonebridge Dancer filly wire-to-wire in 2:02.1, with Cheque The Magic following three-quarters of a length behind in second and Tenor Duharas two lengths back in third. Carroll has driven Magic Dancing for all of her wins.

Last week's assignment was the closest yet for Magic Dancing, who was actually nosed out at the wire by Nim -- a fourth-place finisher tonight after challenging first over. However, Major Dancing inherited the victory that night as judges placed Nim for a pylon violation.

Magic Dancing only hit the board once -- in her first lifetime start at Mohawk Racetrack -- during her freshman season racing against Ontario-sired stakes competition. That debut race was won by the season's eventual Ontario Super Final champion and Breeders Crown runner-up Danielle Hall.

Magic Dancing's six sophomore wins have boosted her bankroll to over $25,000.
