Tlb Racing’s Downers Delight ($3.80) notched his ninth win of the season with a 1:52.4 win in the $23,611 Delaware Special on Monday, May 19 at Harrington Raceway.
Driven by Pat Berry, the seven-year-old Bettors Delight-Astrmowin gelding was positioned second-over behind a game Itsrockandroll A, who pressured pacesetter Master Rigger to three-quarters in 1:24.3. Downers Delight fanned three-wide in the stretch and zoomed by for his 22nd career win. Itsrockandroll A was second with Master Rigger third.
Trained by Traci Berry, Downers Delight has already banked more than $160,000 in 2025 and was part of a driving triple on the day for Pat Berry.
Trainer Carlo Poliseno and Todd Burger’s Double Metal ($13.60) was a 1:52.1 winner in the $20,139 Winners-Over sub-feature for pacers with Cody Poliseno driving. The seven-year-old Betting Line-Double Creme gelding took advantage of a second-over journey and surged to the front at the wire over Stevens Saloon and Effingham for his fourth win of the year and second straight trip to the winner’s circle.
Team Poliseno also scored a win with 11-year-old Proper Respect-JK Glory Days gelding, Proper One ($20.60), for the pacer's 52nd career win.
Joining Cody Poliseno with a driving double on the day were Barton Dalious and Montrell Teague.
Live harness racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule (post time 4:30 p.m.).
