Rideau Carleton Raceway's leading trainer Mandy Archer won every race she entered during Victoria Day weekend in the nation's capital.
Archer had starters in three races during the 10-race card on Sunday, May 18, with her success starting in the evening's featured $8,500 second race, a conditioned optional $25,000 claiming pace. Race favourite Tignanello ($3.80) took the lead with a quarter-mile to go and opened up 2-1/2 lengths to win in 1:53.4 with Robert Shepherd in the sulky. Since joining Archer's stable via a claim on May 4, the five-year-old All Bets Off-Beach Party gelding was fifth in a Preferred try and has won back-to-back starts at this level for the ownership group of Jamie Copley, Kimberly Eaton and Muriel Smith. Archer did have another trainee in this race, with Logan Behold her only miss on the night.
Shepherd, who led all drivers on the card with four wins, also guided Archer trainee Day Trader ($3.10) to a 1:55.3 victory in a head decision in the eighth race for $10,500 claimers, marking that five-year-old pacer's fourth straight win. The Stay Hungry-Day To Ponder gelding is owned by Gerald Dinelle.
Making his first start out of the Archer stable with Guy Gagnon driving, Bettor At Hightide ($2.80) completed her Sunday triple with a 4-3/4-length triumph in 1:55.1 in the finale, a conditioned optional $8,500 claimer. The eight-year-old Bettors Delight-Queensland Beach, whose only other Rideau start was a Grassroots event during his sophomore season, is currently owned by Darren and Duane Tingley.
Archer, who has teetered the 100-win mark in each of the last four years, has earned 27 victories so far in 2025 -- all at Rideau -- while boasting a 0.523 UTRS. Lifetime, the Kenmore, Ont. conditioner has won 514 races.
