It has been announced that a Grammy Award-winning songwriter has turned his focus to harness racing.

Trade Martin, who won a Grammy for his song ‘Peace To The World,’ has written a new song about harness racing, featuring Roosevelt Raceway. The song can be heard at rrtrotting.com

The song was written for the Roosevelt Raceway documentary that is currently in the production stage. It is being produced by Trade Martin, Roosevelt Raceway book co-authors Freddie Hudson and Billy Haughton, along with Yonkers Raceway’s track photographer, Mike Lizzi.

The documentaries trailer/preview will be released shortly and an announcement will be forthcoming. The goal of the documentary is to have it aired on the Public Broadcast Service (PBS).

The Roosevelt Raceway documentary will tell the history of the racetrack from its beginning until its closure. The documentary tells the story of George Morton Levy, who masterminded the creation of the modern-day sport of harness racing.

Trade Martin, along with his Grammy winning song, has produced many movie scores, including ‘Hail to the Chief,’ ‘Made for Each Other’ and BB King's ‘Stormy Monday Blues.’ He has also been nominated for multiple Clio Awards, including TWA's ‘Up Up and Away’ and Prudential's ‘Piece of the Rock.’

He has been associated with music legends Carol King, Bobby Darin, Cher, Carol-Bayer Sager, Steven Stills, Joan Baez, Bert Bacharach and many others.

Trade has been involved with harness racing for over 40 years and is also working on a new song and commercial for the Standardbred Retirement Foundation.
