It shaped up to be the perfect Sunday to catch live harness racing, which returned to the Huron County oval this Victoria Day weekend. Fans returned in droves to watch the 10-race standardbred card on the revamped track at Clinton Raceway.

The day, which featured a fundraiser for Huron Perth Bruce Grey Epilepsy, was one of the best attended opening days that Clinton has experienced. Over $2,000 was raised trackside for the group.

Christina Belfour was the lucky winner of a brand new canoe from Timbers Outfitters in Seaforth. Guests had to guess how many beer cans were in the canoe. There were 283 and Christina was the closest with 179.

The on track handle was over $19,000.

Live racing returns to Clinton Raceway next Sunday, May 26.
