Baileys Magic won the featured $10,000 Open Trot at Buffalo Raceway Friday (May 18) as part of a five-win night for driver Dan Noble

. The win was the eighth this season in 16 attempts for Baileys Magic.

Baileys Magic ($12.80), dismissed by the bettors at 5-1, settled in sixth from post seven as Spirit Of Canada (Dave McNeight III) cut all the fractions in the race, :29.3, :59.4, and 1:29.3. Noble had Baileys Magic in a perfect striking position, second over with cover, as the field hit the top of the stretch. A :29.4 last quarter-mile put the winner one-half length ahead of runner-up Anastasia Willie (Keith Kash, Jr.) at the finish line in 1:59.4. Beer League (Ron Beback, Jr.) came in third.

“I got a perfect second over trip,” said Noble. “I was just waiting to move him at the top of the lane and when I did he exploded.”

The five-year-old Kadabra gelding is trained by the meet's leading conditioner John Mungillo for owner Super Mile LLC. The $5,000 share of the winning purse put Baileys Magic’s seasonal bankroll at $40,709 and lifetime earnings at $73,918.
