Abandoning his customary front-end style, Southwind Go Go Go followed cover nicely and scored a 24-1 upset in Wednesday’s $25,000 Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows

Although he had won two of his last three starts with cozy pocket trips, Southwind Go Go Go ducked for Tony Hall, falling six lengths behind at the half. But the nine-year-old Grinfromeartoear-Radiant Rachel gelding enjoyed his second-over trip, nosing out Armbro Billow at the wire in 1:52.1. Valentowner, the 8-5 favorite, finished a close-up third.
Kris Rickert trains and Dale Wareham owns Southwind Go Go Go, who notched his 16th victory in 2009-2010 and extended his career bankroll to $280,495.
