Trot Insider has received on update on horseman Kurt Hughes, who was injured last November in an

automobile accident.

The outpouring support for Hughes and his family from the harness racing community has been continuously generous, with an online auction raising over $60,000 for the family and numerous smaller fundraisers closer to Hughes' Maritime roots in Prince Edward Island also donating proceeds.

The update from the family appears below.

Kurt Hughes has recently been transferred from the Toronto Western Hospital to a rehabilitation center in Hamilton, Ontario. While there have been challenges since his accident Kurt continues to make steady progress.

Kurt and Colleen are sincerely grateful for the generosity and support received from the harness racing community throughout this difficult time. This support has had and will continue to have a very positive impact on Kurt's ongoing rehabilitation. Kurt, Colleen, and family would like to thank everyone for their generosity, prayers, and best wishes.
