First 2yo Maritimes Qualifier

Sweetwater Cooper, a son of Artesian out of the Cams Card Shark mare Keystone Vanity, became the first two-year-old to qualify in the Maritimes this year when he won at Truro Raceway on Sunday afternoon

with a nine-length 2:04.1 decision.

Dave Carey, who trains the colt for owner-breeder Linda Austin of Mount Stewart, PEI, drove Sweetwater Cooper to a wire-to-wire decision with splits of :30.2, 1:02.3, and 1:33.1, pacing a final quarter, under wraps, in 31 seconds.

The colt has been consigned to Standardbred Canada's Twos In Training Sale, which will take place at Flamboro Downs on Sunday, June 14.
