Saturday, May 18 proved to be a very profitable night for a few select bettors, with one single ticket taking down the early Pick-4, the Pick-5 and the Pick-6 at MGM Northfield Park.
While some favourites prevailed, there were several upsets on the action-packed 16-race program.
Madame Leza A (Justin Irvine) got the party started with a come-from-behind score in the second leg of the early Pick-4, paying an impressive $30 to win. She, however, wouldn't be the only longshot to make her presence felt, as Mindful Amos (Nick Clegg) and Acadia Hanover (Luke Ebersole) were both victorious, leading to a single early Pick-4 payoff of $8,544.90.
Another closer, Corona Era (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) upset in the first leg of the Pick-5, with Rockadella (Hank Le Van) and Skyway Rockatop all providing double digit prices, leading to a single Pick-5 ticket payout of $22,040.80.
The prices continued into the Pick-6 with a 50-cent ticket returning $7,469.75 to one lucky bettor.
Live harness racing resumes on Sunday, May 19 at MGM Northfield Park with a first post of 6 p.m.
