While his own trainee has backed out of the 2022 Elitloppet, horseman Åke Svanstedt has picked up a drive in Sweden's signature trotting race at Solvalla on May 29.
According to reports from Sweden, Svanstedt will drive eight-year-old Swedish trotting star Whos Who. The Maharajah stallion is trained by Pasi Aikio and owned by Travkompaniets Stall AB. His recent reinsman Örjan Kihlström opted to stick with driving defending Elitloppet champion Don Fanucci Zet.
A two-time Elitloppet winner now based in the U.S., Svanstedt said on social media this morning that he was thankful for the opportunity to drive in one of the most prestigious races in the world.
