Racing from the pocket, In A Single Bound bolted through the open stretch to collar pacesetter Mar Nien A in 1:51.3 to take the $15,000 Open Pace on Saturday, May 18 at Saratoga Casino Hotel.
The five-year-old son Roll With Joe pushed for position from post one to sit behind leader and co-favourite Mar Nien A for the majority of the mile. Past a 1:23.2 third quarter, Mar Nien A looked strong on the lead before encountering a passing-lane bid from In A Single Bound in the stretch. The Monica Krist trainee got the edge on Mar Nien A at the wire to nab his 20th victory from 48 starts.
