Newcomer Schooner completed a productive Saturday afternoon for driver Myles Heffernan with a dominant score in the top pacing class at Northside Downs.

The former Ontario campaigner left from post two in his Nova Scotia debut and never relinquished the lead over the sloppy surface en route to a 2:03.4 triumph in the featured Winners Over Pace. Great Luck finished over two lengths behind in second while Art I Special rounded out the top three.

The victory was Schooner's 25th lifetime.

Heffernan, who won four of Saturday's 10 races, drove the son of American Ideal for his new owner/trainer Louis Beaton of Inverness.

In qualifying action, Maritime Breeders champion and Atlantic Sires Stakes star Junebugs Baby turned in a 2:04.1 winning effort in his four-year-old debut for Fraser Turnbull and John Turnbull Jr.
