Call Me Yours delivered on her pari-mutuel promise in the $10,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 Pace, holding off a wall of closers at Grand River Raceway on a rainy

Wednesday night.

Driven by Stuart Sowerby, the six-year-old Your Nemesis-Lucky Call mare took command of the field from Post 2 and carved out fractions of :28.3, :57.2 and 1:26.2 with a pesky Misty Moonstone (Peter Core) parked out and pressing. However, Call Me Yours held tough to win, prevailing by half a length in 1:56.4 over the sloppy track. Exquisite Alberta (Scott Coulter) shot up the rail for second and Chief Karen (Billy David Jr.) rallied wide in the stretch to grab third with Misty Moonstone finishing just three-quarters of a length back in fourth.

Call Me Yours paid $4.50 to win as the fan favourite. Stephen Gillard of Tavistock, Ont. trains and owns the homebred, who has won four times in 12 starts this year. The win was No. 25 for Call Me Yours, and boosted her bankroll to $364,575.
