As noted here last week, Thunder Alley starts his seasons at Northside Downs in top form. Bet down to 1-9 in the $1,700 Winners Over feature on Saturday, May 17, others have clearly observed the same.
Leaving from post two, Thunder Alley ($2.20) sprinted off the gate to gain early command in his Saturday test. The favourite was neither seriously tested nor severely threatened after that, towing driver Gerard Kennedy through fractions of :29.3, :59.2 and 1:29 before coasting home in :29.4 for the 1:58.4 decision. Revenant (Ryan Campbell) held second after his pocket ride with Fear The Shadow (Keigan Madden) closing well for the show spot.
Nine-year-old Thunder Alley (Mystery Chase - The Three Of Us) picked up his second win of the season and 35th lifetime to push his career earnings to $95,730. Heather Hawkins trains for owners Terri Morrison, Irwin Claener, Kirk MacRae and Angus MacEachern of Nova Scotia.
