Following a tough loss versus tougher foes at Woodbine Mohawk Park, Twofourroadie hit the road and came away with a triumph in Thursday’s $8,500 Preferred 3 for trotters.
Twofourroadie got away seventh in the nine-horse affair while Waikiki Hanover sped to the top and whacked out panels of :28.1, :58 and 1:26.4. Bruce Richardson fired Twofourroadie three-wide in the backstretch and the gelding stormed home in :29.1 to win by a length over Magic Night in 1:57.2. Waikiki Hanover faded late and settled for third prize.
Sent off at odds of 11-1, Twofourroadie notched his third victory in his last four attempts for trainer Vicki Gregg. She shares ownership on the six-year-old son of Mutineer-Road Trip Girl with Louis Gregg of Cargill, Ont.
It was the fourth win of the campaign – and the 10th to date – for the career winner of $58,485.
