Likely To Win teamed up with Adam Merner to deliver an upset performance in the Thursday evening feature event closing out the program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The Melissa Rennie trainee stopped the clock in 1:56.1 in the $1,800 featured pace paying $13.80 to win over Nogreatmischief (Driven by Walter Cheverie) and Heart And Soul (Clare MacDonald).
Likely To Win is owned by Nova Scotia owners Blenise Young of Long Point and Lester Campbell of Judique along with Jeffrey Campbell of Calgary, Alta.
Malabrigo made her return to the winner’s circle on the Thursday program in her third start back after a nearly six-year hiatus from racing. Marc Campbell engineered the winning trip in 1:57.3 for owners Darryl and Gordon MacLean and Natasha Campbell, all of Winsloe, along with Meghan MacDonald of Charlottetown. West River Ambyr (MacDonald) was second in the $2,000 class with third place going to Outrageous Spirit (Gordie Hennessey).
Campbell had three wins on the card as he continues to lead the Red Shores Charlottetown driver’s standings. His other wins came with Izzies Angel in 2:00.1 for trainer Terry Gallant of Summerside and Keepcalmndanceon from his own stable in a mile time of 1:58.2.
