Who would harness racing's sharpest minds select in the 2018 Trot Magazine Fantasy Stable? Trot Insider will feature 'expert picks' in advance of the contest entry deadline.

Announcer for Pompano Park & The Red Mile (and soon to be returning to his role as Meadowlands TV analyst) Gabe Prewitt has offered his picks for the 2018 Fantasy Stable. With a number of top conditioners available in Group M, Prewitt has strong justification for his selection.

"With a loaded arsenal of two & three-year-old stakes performers, I am expecting a HUGE year from trainer Tony Alagna," said Prewitt. "I am very excited to Breeders Crown champ Stay Hungry return for his sophomore campaign, as well as KYSS Champ Band Stand. I think Captaintreacherous will prove himself to be the real deal in the stallion ranks, and Tony is loaded with first-crop freshman from Captaitreacherous, so I am expecting to see some standout superstar two-year olds from the barn!"

In 2017, Tony Alagna's stable banked just shy of $3.5 million, and in the five seasons prior his stable averaged more than $4.97 million.
