Who would harness racing's sharpest minds select in the 2018 Trot Magazine Fantasy Stable? Trot Insider will feature 'expert picks' in advance of the contest entry deadline.
Announcer for Woodbine Mohawk Park, Ken Middleton has offered his picks for the 2018 Fantasy Stable. Middleton has honed in on 2017 Milton winner Blue Moon Stride from a wide-open array of choices in Group H.
"She's just one of those hard-hitting Rocknroll Hanovers that can do it from anywhere," said Middleton. "And she seems to be able to adapt to any track size, and that gives her lots of options. She showed the ability to race with and beat the best in her division last year, so hopefully that can carry over into this season's campaign."
A blue-blooded daughter of Rocknroll Hanover, Blue Moon Stride made a strong transition to older competition in 2017 with a 4-4-2 summary from 20 seasonal starts while collecting cheques in all but three of those races.
Now back on track at age five, Blue Moon Stride continues to perform with consistency. After a win against Fillies & Mares Open foes at The Meadowlands in her debut, Blue Moon Stride followed up that performance with a solid third-place finish in the 2018 Chip Noble Memorial on May 7 at Miami Valley.
