The Don MacRae-owned Blue Star Outlaw earned his first win of the 2012 campaign and he did it in gate-to-wire fashion. JK Special, with Walter Cheverie in the bike, finished second while General Luckypercy and Ron Matheson completed the top three.
B J Eldorado was able to reach up in the final strides to catch Whats It All About in the evening’s trot class. Kenny Arsenault engineered the winning trip for owner Bert Honkoop of Montague. Duvar Road and Norman Myers finished third.
Racing returns Saturday in Charlottetown. Post time is 6 p.m. Red Shores Summerside opens the 2012 season Sunday. Post time is 6:30 p.m.
