Six divisions of the City of London Pacing Series, three for the males and three for the females, highlighted Western Fair’s 50th anniversary celebrations

on a wet night in London.

After the $9,000 divisions were concluded all of the male winners have the chance to sweep the series in next week’s finals as they each won their second legs tonight on the wet track.

The quickest winner of the boys was Bazilla who rolled to an eight length 1:57.2 effort for owner Rod Boyd. It was the second straight victory for the gelding by Geartogear who was unraced last year at two and has now made five starts this year.

Another winner for the second week was Legends Luck, a gelding by Camluck who gave Nick Steward a 2:00.2 ride to take their division. Travis Alexander trains the gelding for Fiddlers Creek Stables of Michigan.

The third and final winner in the colt division was another son of Camluck, Element Seelster who pulled Shepherd to a 1:59 score. Jim Ritchie trains the sophomore he co-owns with Paul Ritchie, Murray Cox and Terry Taylor. It was Element Seelster’s fifth win in nine tries.

On the distaff side only one of the winners has the chance to sweep the three week series at Lucky Real One was the only filly to win for the second straight week. The Camluck three-year-old scored in 2:00.1 for Doug McNair. Trained by Gregg McNair, the winner of four of nine to date this year is owned by Frank Dettore Horse Racing of Ohio.

The other winners in the mare divisions were Just Artful for Greg Drew by a head in 1:59 and Cheryls Surprise in an easy 1:59.3 score for Lorne House.

The evening was full of giveaways and promotions to celebrate the track’s five decades of live harness racing which culminated with the give away of a new car won by Jamie Johnson from Tillsonburg.
