Admirals Quest and Blissed Out shipped to Rideau Carleton Raceway on Sunday evening and came away with impressive victories in their respective Preferred assignments

.

Six days after finishing a fast-closing second in a $28,000 conditioned event at Mohawk Racetrack, Admirals Quest took home the lion’s share of the $12,100 purse offered in the Preferred Trot. With Guy Gagnon at the helm, the Richard Moreau pupil rolled the field through panels of :29.2, :58.4 and 1:28 en route to the 1:57.1 decision over Gutsy Volo and Jedrik Hanover.

The seven-year-old son of CR Commando, who races for the Quebec partnership of Ecurie Richard Moreau Inc. and Firmin Jolicouer, won for the third time this season and for the 22nd time in his career. He has stashed away more than $265,000 in lifetime earnings.

Fresh off a 1:52 triumph at Kawartha Downs on May 12, Blissed Out rolled into Rideau Carleton Raceway and pulled off a 1:54 victory in the $12,100 Preferred Pace for trainer Rene Allard and driver Jacques Beaudoin.

The eight-year-old son of Blissfull Hall sat a pocket trip behind Best Show In Town, who laid out splits of :26.3, :56.1 and 1:25.2. Beaudoin found clearance for his charge in the lane and a :28.1 final quarter was just enough for the gelding to win by a quarter of a length. Best Show In Town was a determined runner-up to the 4-5 favourite. Aqua Powered rounded out the top three.

Allard shares ownership on the 33-time winner with John Nother of Brampton, ON. The veteran, who has banked $596,691 to date, boasts a 6-3-1 record from just 13 trips postward this season.
