Trevor Henry drove a pair of winners at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Thursday, May 16, securing a new milestone plateau of $80 million in career driving earnings.
Gino Cicero's Hope N Glory ($112.60) was Henry's first triumph of the evening, a massive 55-1 upset in the opener. The Lookslikeachpndale-Merry Maiden filly won her first career race in the $17,000 conditioned trot with a 2-3/4 length score in 1:56.2.
Though impressive on his first score, it was race eight winner Tactical Seelster to get Henry across the wire of the milestone with a win in the $12,000 claiming pace. Henry and the Sheldon Rose student got away fourth through the opening panel in :27.2 before pulling first over en route to the :55.4 half. Tactical Seelster achieved the lead along the pylons before the three-quarters in 1:24.4, then went on to score by 3-3/4 lengths in 1:53.4. Catchmeonthebeach (Louis-Philippe Roy) took second with The Serpent (Tyler Borth) third.
Rose owns the four-year-old State Treasurer-Titania Seelster gelding. Tactical Seelster won his fourth race from 19 starts this year and his 12th career tally from 51 starts. He paid $4.60 to win.
Trevor Henry has 7,583 career victories in addition to achieving the $80 million milestone feat.
