Lifetime Trust, a frequent visitor to the tote board after races, today visited Victory Lane after overcoming a hard trip to win the $17,000 distaff pacing feature at Harrah’s Philadelphia Wednesday while taking a new mark of 1:52.
Andrew McCarthy was behind the daughter of Bettors Delight, who went forward for a second time in the second half and caught pacesetting favourite Moments Of Joy by half a length for trainer Richard Ringler and the Ringler Stable LLC.
In a pair of $16,000 co-features, McCarthy took a second win with the Well Said mare Smileandsaycheese, who parlayed a perfect second-over trip to a new speed badge of 1:51.4 in the pacing event for trainer Timothy Lancaster (who also doubled), co-owner with Mark and Joy Lancaster, while the trot fell to the Explosive Matter gelding Lucky Matter, now winner of two straight after crossing the wire in 1:55.2 for driver George Napolitano Jr. and trainer Chris Beaver, the latter co-owner with Synerco Ventures Inc. and David Lang.
The most impressive winner of the day came 8,738 miles (14,064 km) from his last start to make his mark, as the Live Or Die gelding Robbie Burns N moved after the quarter and came his last three-quarters in 1:22.3 while stopping the timer in a blistering 1:50.1 in his North American debut. Trainer Joshua Parker and driver Art Stafford Jr. have now won five straight races between here and Harrington with New Zealand imports, and this one gave every indication there is even better to come from him for his ownership, trainer Parker, Nanticoke Racing Inc. Barry Spedden, and the Prestige Stable.
The track’s leading driver, Tim Tetrick, won five times today, including with the longest-priced horse of the day, That Man Of Mine ($29.40, race 1).
