Earnest Hill of Marion, Indiana was the second winner in the TGI Caddy promotion at Hoosier Park Racing and Casino Friday, May 16
. The promotion includes eight Cadillacs in eight weeks, offering more than $350,000 in cash and prizes during the promotion that extends to Friday, June 26.
Fab Five harness driver Mike “Mo Pete” Peterson made the announcement just after 10:15 p.m. on the casino floor. Hill was one of several hundred people waiting around the CTS Cadillac on display, and came rushing toward the podium from the back of the car when he heard Peterson announce his name.
“I just won a Cadillac,” said Hill. “I come down here every Friday night, and we’ve been waiting around tonight for the drawing to see who won the Cadillac. I can’t believe it. This is something.”
Hill, who is retired from General Motors in Marion, was visiting Hoosier Park with his wife of 47 years, Mary. He will have the option to choose his own colour of the CTS Cadillac or the $25,000 cash option.
TGI Caddys will move into the third round Friday, May 22. In addition to the Cadillac giveaway, the promotion will be giving away $7,000 in hourly bonus cash drawings from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. each Thursday and Friday, which means 28 extra winners will announced every week. Fab Five harness driver Joe Putnam will announce the winner shortly after 10:15 p.m. when all entries have been tabulated for the promotion.
