All eyes were on Logan Park in his quest to extend his winning streak to four-in-a-row in Monday’s $48,000 Free For All Trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park, but Patriarch Hanover burst his bubble turning a two-hole trip into an 11-1 upset.
His victory was one of four celebrated on the 10-race card by trainer Richard Moreau, who also tacked on triumphs with Bella Cavalla (1:54), Gigondas (1:53.2) and Press Time (1:53.1).
Patriarch Hanover powered off the gate in the feature race of the evening and was parked by Locatelli to the quarter pole in :27.1 before working his way to the lead for driver Tyler Jones. He then took a backseat to the odds-on favourite, Logan Park, who raced parked while showing the lead at the mid-way point in :55.3.
He cleared shortly thereafter and went on to post the three-quarter clocking of 1:25 before going into sprint mode. Logan Park fired home in :27.1 after being parked out for the opening half, but it wasn’t enough to fend off Patriarch Hanover who blasted home in :27 to win by a neck over
