Shelley Gray has announced her retirement from her position as Racing Services Representative with Standardbred Canada (SC), effective May 16, 2026.

Gray began her career with Standardbred Canada in 1991 and, throughout her tenure, served not only the Alberta tracks, but also Regina. Over the years, she became well known for her willingness to go above and beyond to help others. Her hard work, dedication and friendly disposition have left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of working with her.

“Shelley has seen a great deal of change since joining the Association, and Standardbred Canada would like to recognize her for many years of dedicated and loyal service. She will be greatly missed,” said Val Boom, Racing Services Manager. “Shelley was always someone I could count on, and I have been very fortunate to have her as part of my team. On behalf of everyone at Standardbred Canada, I would like to thank her and wish her all the best in her retirement.”

While Gray may be retiring from her role with Standardbred Canada, she certainly won’t be slowing down. She plans to spend more time working in the barn alongside her husband, Jamie.

Please join Standardbred Canada in congratulating Gray on her retirement and welcoming Haining to her new position.
