The Standardbred Canada website recently featured a story about a loose harness horse running down Highway 401 in Ontario after having been involved in a traffic accident. This past weekend, a story of a loose horse on a highway being chased by a dog hit the news wire.
This story doesn’t come from the London, Ont. area, but from Beijing, China, where startled motorists had to do a double take when they saw a horse with saddle darting through lanes on a major thoroughfare.
A report which appears on ecns.cn, the official English-language website of China News Service, explains that as one women was watching the horse from her car, her dog jumped out the window and began to purse the steed.
The article states that motorists eventually helped corral the loose horse and dog, but that everyone involved in the incident left the scene before authorities could arrive to investigate.
