Well-known harness racing announcer Shannon "Sugar" Doyle makes his debut as the Northlands Park thoroughbred announcer on Friday night
in Edmonton.
Like many people in this sport, he has an interesting story that would appeal to the hard-core fan and the general public.
While Doyle took a gamble by leaving the Maritimes to call races in Alberta a few years ago, he was following the advice of somebody who was always right.
