Standardbred Canada (SC) has announced, effective immediately, that Dave Hudon has withdrawn from the 2026 Western Regional Driving Championship (WRDC) due to health concerns.

James Jungquist will replace Hudon in the event.

Standardbred Canada extends its best wishes to Hudon and his family.

The field for the 2026 WRDC, scheduled for Saturday, May 23 at Century Downs Racetrack and Casino in Rocky View County, Alta., is:

Drivers were invited to participate based on racing statistics from the 2025 season and the first two months of 2026, along with their availability to compete in both the National Driving Championship and the 2027 World Driving Championship, and their ability to be a positive Canadian representative on an international stage.

Drivers will receive points based on their finishing position. The top two point earners, following  the eight-race competition, will advance to the 2026 National Driving Championship at Clinton Raceway in Clinton, Ont., on Sunday, July 26.

First-race post time for the WRDC card is 12:45 p.m. (MDT). The event will be available to watch on the Standardbred Canada website.
