Who would harness racing's sharpest minds select in the 2019 Trot Magazine Fantasy Stable? Trot Insider will feature 'expert picks' in advance of the deadline for this year's contest, brought to you in partnership with the Breeders Crown.

Trot Insider asked Gabe Prewitt, announcer for Pompano Park & The Red Mile (and soon to be returning to his role as Meadowlands TV analyst) to send it in and offer his analysis for the 2019 Fantasy Stable. With a deep and diverse array of choices in Group G, Prewitt picked The Downtown Bus to deliver.

"I was a big fan of his as a sophomore, and I thought he put in a gutsy performance the other night in the Graduate from an impossible spot. I think he will continue to get better, and be a force in the four-year-old restricted group early in the season. He has proven he can go with top level free-for-all company already this year as well."

With a pair of Grand Circuit scores in 2018 with wins in the Simcoe and the Matron, The Downtown Bus showed he was ready to step up from Ontario Sires Stakes competition in 2019. He started his four-year-old campaign against older foes in the Levy series at Yonkers Raceway and picked up a pair of wins. With eight seasonal starts, the son of Mach Three - Slimspace sports a summary of 2-1-1 with $63,080 in earnings for trainer-owner Jeff Gillis and co-owner Ellen Ott. He has a solid chance to add to his Fantasy Stable bankroll immediately in next Sunday's Confederation Cup Final after a runner-up performance behind Done Well in Sunday's fastest elim.
