When the wings of the starting gate folded, Cheyenne J (David Hudon) protected the rail position with post two starter Yarhos and J.F. Gagne tucking in behind her. Meanwhile, Slow And Easy (Kevin Anderson) pursued the early leader with Fast Lane Wealth (Keith Clark) also leaving and caught wide to the turn before shifting into the second over spot.

Cheyenne J posted the :27.2 opening quarter, but Slow And Easy cleared to command in front of the grandstand leaving Fast Lane Wealth first up. Slow And Easy proceeded to the half in :55.3 and three-quarters in 1:24.2 while Fast Lane Wealth found a spot at the pylons in third ahead of Yarhos.

As Fast Lane Wealth settled into the hole, Yarhos made her move and advanced from fourth. As the fillies headed for home, Cheyenne J pulled from the pocket and took over the lead down the stretch with Yarhos charging up on the outside to nip her at the wire in a career-best 1:55.4. Cheyenne J settled for second while Slow And Easy finished one length behind in third.

The 5-2 second choice, an elimination winner two weeks ago, returned $7.50 to her her backers for a $2 win ticket. Richard Lancaster trains the Seven Seas Cruiser-Dealmeahos miss for owner-breeder Ray Soh of Delta, B.C. Yarhos now sports a lifetime record reading 3-3-3 in 17 starts with $60,704 earned in purses.
