Ok Boromir Overlooked At Georgian

Woodbine invader Ok Boromir survived a long first over journey to win the $15,000 Preferred 2 Pace featured at Georgian Downs on Saturday night

Leaving from the outside post eight, 13-1 longshot Ok Boromir and driver Paul MacKenzie pursued the popular Mcapulco (Robert Shepherd) through fractions of :27 and :56.3 before poking a head in front near the 1:25 third quarter mark and opening up three lengths down the stretch. The No Pan Intended-Double Creme six-year-old tripped the teletimer in 1:52.3 for his third win in 11 starts this season.

Ok Boromir paid $28.30 for the upset win over pocket-sitter Ocala (Brandon Campbell) and the rallying Wild Dragon (Scott Coulter).

Frank Baker Jr. trains and co-owns the $565,574 earner with Wray and Janet Wilson of Thorndale, Ont.
