According to a report, Northfield Park Vice President Dave Bianconi has said that an experiment to forego live racing at the track on Kentucky Derby Day and solely focus on simulcasting from a total of 40 tracks was a
success.
An article by The Plain Dealer has quoted Bianconi as saying that the track is "pretty pleased with the results."
The report states that bettors at Northfield Park wagered $581,355 on the all-simulcast, day-and-night event, a jump from last year's $206,000 wagered on live racing.
