Eliminations for the Bride To Be Pacing Series were contested at Kawartha Downs on Thursday, and Camluck fillies proved to be a cut above the rest

Almost Lucky overcame early interference and drew off to a three-length triumph in her $6,500 assignment for trainer/driver Murray Brethour. She stopped the clock in 1:57.3 while defeating Highland Arts Mcam and Braveheartedmillie.
Brethour co-owns the filly, who was sent off as the 6-5 favourite, with the 30 Plus Stable of Trenton, ON. It was her second win in five career tries, and the lion’s share of the purse lifted her earnings to $12,550.
Twin B Miracle shot to immediate command two races later and held on to win by a narrow margin for driver Anthony MacDonald. He rolled the filly through panels of :28, :58.1 and 1:26.2 before using a :29.4 final frame to win by a head over Machs Little Filly in 1:56.1. A And Gs Majorette was third.
Wayne Catherwood trains the youngster for owner Tom Rasmussen of Gloucester, ON. It was the first start of the year for the filly, who went 0-for-10 as a freshman.
Kawartha Downs will host the $14,500 final of the Bride To Be Pacing Series next Thursday.
