No Rust On Intended Royalty

Even though he’d been away from the races since last September, Intended Royalty proved to be too tough for the competition to handle in Friday evening’s feature race at Truro Raceway.

Intended Royalty was treated to a two-hole ride by driver Redmond Doucet in Friday’s $1,675 ‘Winners Over’ event, and that trip was the difference maker. Distinctiv Rusty knifed his way through panels of :28.4, :58.2 and 1:27.4, but Intended Royalty’s :29.2 kicker on the end of the mile earned him the half-length score over Distinctiv Rusty in 1:57.2. Catch Twenty Two was third.

Sent off as the 3-5 favourite, Intended Royalty won for the 20th time in his career while lifting his lifetime earnings just shy of $100,000. Trainer Randy Copley co-owns the seven-year-old son of No Pan Intended-Renees Queen with Edward Copley of Inverness, NS.
