In his second start of the year, Trustworthy Kid exploded to the lead and rolled home in a sharp 1:53.1 to capture Monday’s $18,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

Trustworthy Kid earned over $100,000 last year, and his performance Monday for Brian Zendt suggests he’ll continue to pad his career bank account of $262,666. He defeated TSM Photo Bugger by 1-1/4 lengths, with Mike The Trader third.

Walter “Boots’ Dunn trains the homebred six-year-old SJs Caviar-Penn Worthy Lane gelding for Dunn Stable.

Zendt piloted three winners on the 13-race card. With one victory, Dave Palone extended his career win total to 16,996.
