It has been reported that a new scaled down gambling bill will be introduced in the New Hampshire Senate this week in which the state's Lottery Commission to license four locations which would house slot machines
.
An article on unionleader.com explains that the legislation dictates that the commission could award two $50 million licenses which allow 3,500 slot machines; a $30 million license would allow 2,000 machines, and a $15 million license would allow 1,000 machines
.
Senator Lou D'Allesandro, who is behind the legislation, has been cited in the report as saying that he believes he has the 13 necessary votes to have the Senate pass the bill this week.
He was also cited as saying that annual revenues would be in the $100 million range and that the state would collect 39 per cent of the operations' revenues. If the process moves quickly enough this year, D'Allesandro believes that $80 million in licensing fees this year.
"We think there is a possibility of a temporary facility being up within the next six months so we could begin to see some kind of cash flow by the end of the calendar year," D'Allesandro was quoted as saying.
