Tlb Racing's Remarkable De Vie ($5.20), driven by Pat Berry, notched his sixth win of the season with a 1:54.2 triumph in the featured $20,000 Open Trot on Wednesday (May 10).
The Traci Berry trainee is on pace for consecutive $100,000 seasons with his 23rd lifetime win that pushed him past the $70,000 mark for the season.
Northern Express assumed command from early leader Manatlas to the opening quarter mile in :28.1. The field stayed single file to the half-mile in :57.3 before a first-over Remarkable De Vie emerged with a power surge which cleared Northern Express, who soon broke stride, to the three-quarters in 1:25.4. Remarkable De Vie never relented from there as Quiksilvr Bluechip rallied for second with Manatlas third.
The win was one of three on the card for driver Berry, two of which were trained by his wife Traci.
Harrington’s defending driving champion Allan Davis had five wins on the card and maintained the hot hand after a six-win night on Tuesday. Davis closed night out strong winning the last three races with Canoe Trip ($4.60), Go With the Roll ($8) and Monarch ($3.20).
Tony Morgan had a pair of victories.
