Classical Annie extended her winning streak to three when she captured Tuesday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.
Up in class from a pair of victories in conditioned events, Classical Annie shot to the lead from Post 3 for Dave Palone before releasing her stablemate, Barn Girl. The four-year-old daughter of Andover Hall-Classicaly Designed retook before the half and had little trouble scoring in 1:54.3 over a “good” surface. Anaffairtoremember finished second, 1-1/4 lengths back, while Barn Girl saved show.
Ron Burke trains Classical Annie, who edged past $200,000 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable.
Jim Pantaleano piloted three winners on the 14-race card.
