Action Broadway, the 2011 Trotting Mare of the Year in the U.S. and runner-up in Canada who was off to a slow start this season, notched her first victory of 2012 Wednesday at The Meadows
by coming first over to capture the $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Trot.
Action Broadway made breaks in her seasonal debut at The Meadows and followed that up with a middling fourth-place finish at Hoosier Park. But the five-year-old daughter of Broadway Hall-Photo With Molly was sharp Wednesday, moving from fifth for Dave Palone and scoring in 1:55.1. PJs Photo rallied for second, half a length back, while Dont Blink earned show money.
Virgil Morgan, Jr. trains Action Broadway, who now boasts $839,268 in career earnings, for Ken Sommer.
