Breakaway Racing and Yorwollohan Racing’s Speed Away ($4.60) was a 1:54.4 winner in the $30,822 Open Trot at Harrington Raceway on Wednesday, May 1.
Corey Callahan and the Nick Callahan trainee settled in fourth early behind pacesetter That Ole Bar Stool before making a persistent backstretch grind to three-quarters, during which he steadily gained and eventually passed the leader in deep stretch. That Ole Bar Stool was second with Manatlas third.
Six-year-old Speed Away (Father Patrick-All The Time) earned his first win in five starts this year.
The win was one of two on the card for driver Callahan, who joined Russell Foster, Pat Berry and Allan Davis with a double.
Live harness racing at Harrington will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
