Ontario-bred Busting With Pride surged down the stretch to capture the $22,857 Open Handicap Trot at Saratoga Casino Hotel on Monday, April 7.

Driven by Billy Dobson, Busting With Pride sat third early behind the race’s top two wagering choices in a mile that featured fractions of :28, :57.2, and 1:27.2. Dobson tipped the Jackie Greene trainee three-wide heading into the final turn, and the five-year-old responded with a powerful move, sweeping past rivals to win in 1:57.1. Sent off at 8-1, Busting With Pride returned $19.60 to win. Passarino (Brett Beckwith) finished second, with By The Book (Jay Randall) closing late for third.

Co-owned by Greene and Kellogg Racing of Queensbury, N.Y., Busting With Pride—a son of Resolve out of Bustingattheseams—earned his third win in five seasonal starts and second Open-level score of 2025. The victory marked the 14th of his career and pushed his lifetime earnings to $229,574.

Greene sent out two winners on the card, also scoring with Kinnder Hotblood ($5.80), who overcame post eight to win her local debut in a $16,429 conditioned trot. Brett Beckwith was in the bike for the victory.

Beckwith enjoyed a standout afternoon, piloting five winners on the Monday program.

Live racing continues Tuesday, April 8, with a matinee card starting at 12 p.m.
