Canada's leading reinsman Louis-Philippe Roy continued to rack up the wins with another successful Sunday stop at Rideau Carleton Raceway on April 8.
Roy, who last won six races on a single program just two Sundays ago at the Ottawa oval, made his first winner's circle appearance of the night after guiding the streaking mare Bettim Vicky ($4.40) to her third straight victory in the third race for trainer Matthew McDonald.
His next victory was courtesy of fifth race winner Ice O Late ($4), conditioned by Luc Chouinard.
In the seventh race, Roy started a three-race win streak of his own aboard the Yves Tessier-trained Bet I Can Fly ($2.50) followed by victories with Every Girls Desire ($5) for Michael Armstrong and Ten Carat ($3.30) for Francis Richard. The veteran Real Desire gelding Every Girls Desire notched his third successive score at age 11 and hit the 50-win mark lifetime.
In Sunday's featured $8,550 Not Listed Preferred Handicap Pace, Guy Gagnon, a four-time winner on the 13-race program, engineered the successful drive aboard the wide-rallying Tessier trainee Ufdragons Rocket ($10.50) in 1:55.2 as Roy's mount Beach Boy surrendered the lead in the stretch.
But Roy was back at it, winning the 12th race in rein to a pacer that he co-owns with trainer Richard and partners named Hawaiian Five Roll ($6.10).
With his six victories, Roy bumped his seasonal total to 158.
