.

The NTRA’s Safety and Integrity Alliance team was in Louisville, Kentucky this week to conduct its first safety inspection with the goal to eventually have all thoroughbred racetracks in compliance with a new code of standards.

“None of us want another Eight Belles,” said Tommy Thompson of the NTRA Inspection Team, referring to a post race breakdown in last year’s Kentucky Derby. “None of us want anything but the best for horse racing.”
