Kennel Buddy took a two-race winning streak into Thursday’s $11,000 Preferred 2 for trotters at Flamboro Downs, and his rallying skills helped him extended the streak to three straight for trainer David Dowling.
J Harris, who celebrated a three-win performance on the 10-race card, mapped out a two-hole trip for Kennel Buddy and the gelding didn’t let it go to waste. Dragin The Wagon threw down fractions of :28.1, :59.2 and 1:28.4, but he couldn’t fend off a pair of late challengers. Kennel Buddy fired home in :30.3 over the ‘sloppy’ oval and that was good enough to earn him the half-length score over Azucar in 1:59.3. Dragin The Wagon was third.
