Canwood (9-1) and Miss Da Line (8-1) got the Princess Pablano Trot off to a rousing start Wednesday (April 5) at The Meadows when they scored upset victories in their $15,000 opening-leg divisions.

The series for three-year-old fillies honours Princess Pablano, long a top performer at The Meadows and still active for trainer Tyler Stillings and owner Rags To Riches Of PA.

Using Lasix for the first time, Canwood stalked Criteria from the pocket, then breezed by in the Lightning Lane for Brian Zendt to prevail in a career-best 1:57.4. Mimosa Hanover rallied from well back for second, three-quarters of a length in arrears, while Quiet Glide earned show. Bill Zendt trains the daughter of Cantab Hall-Hallywood for Judith Wolkomir and Fred Kayne.

With four of her rivals already off stride, Miss Da Line pulled the pocket past the half for trainer/driver Ray Paver and powered off to a handy victory in 1:58, seven and three-quarter lengths better than Weekend Wit Chucky. Itsgoodtobequeen finished third. Harry Horowitz and Iris Horowitz bred and own Miss Da Line, a daughter of Muscle Massive-Sister Kate.

Tony Hall swept the first three races and finished with four wins on the 12-race card.
