When it comes to the current woes in the New Jersey gaming industry, many chose to focus primarily on the hard times the racing sector has been facing as of late. It is known that Atlantic City casinos have been feeling the pressure as well, and their overall 2010 numbers sure reflect that
According to an article on pressofatlanticcity.com, the collective earnings of AC casinos fell 27 per cent in 2010.
On Monday, April 4, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement released numbers which state that the 11 casino hotels posted earnings of $729.7 million in 2009 and just $534.9 million in 2010.
The report explains that the AC gaming industry remains profitable overall, even though it continues to be hurt by the bad economy and increased gaming competition from surrounding states.
