Trot Insider has learned that driver Trevor Henry has been sidelined from driving after being hit by a car in Quebec.

According to Henry's wife, Shannon, Trevor was crossing a street in Montreal on Wednesday (April 3) when he was struck by a right-turning car. As a result, Henry received a broken ankle that required surgery on Wednesday afternoon.

Shannon flew into Montreal on Wednesday night and the couple is currently waiting to fly back to Ontario.

Trevor told Trot Insider that he'll be sidelined for more than a month as he's been told by doctors to keep weight off the ankle for around six weeks.

One of Canada's leading drivers, Henry has won 6,668 races and more than $57 million in purses over his career. As of press time, he was fourth in Canada for earnings in 2019 with $671,530 banked by his horses.
